The emotions aroused by films take their roots in the same type of processes as in everyday life. One can then wonder : How can a fiction generate in viewers such emotions ? Several answers are probably true . One of these is in the works we bring you to watch. Each one of these films speaks about us, about our interior demons as much as our great joys; Identfication in films is no new phenomenon, it is a tool that unites all audiences.
In Novemberchild, road-movie reminding us of how important it is to know oneself, Inga hits the roads of Germany searching for a past whose very existence was hidden from her. Noise in My Head introduces us to Laura, a young woman attempting to find happiness along the chance encounters she elicits.
In The Ring, a boy dreams of becoming a wrestler to escape his social and family situation. In Unspoken, Emmanuelle Devos and Bruno Todescini both deliver a moving performance, in the film UNPOKEN, telling the story of a couple who keeps silent the ghosts of the past. Tout est parfait deals fairly with a taboo topic: teenage suicide.
The Meaning of Life for $9.99, the only animated film, watches human relationships with humour and intelligence. The cryptic Before the Burial shows a man obsessed with his past, determined to take revenge, then to die. Chance will allow him to dream again.
In the documentary Don't release me, I'll Do it Myself, Fabienne Godet talks with Michel Vaujour of twenty-seven years in jail, of isolation, of his relationship with himself and others.
