Two old friends have decided to marry their children, Martha and Charley, who don't know each other, and who disapprove of this arrangement. Charley goes to the young women and her parent's to meet them. On the way, he encounters a stranger, and it's love at first sight. So he decides to pretend he's crazy so his future in-laws cancel the wedding, without knowing that the beautiful stranger is in fact his future bride.
