Aubagne, March 26th 2011. The juries of the 12th edition of the Festival International du Film d’Aubagne, devoted to young creation and to music and sound for film, awarded 16 prizes, among which 2 great prizes for sound and music creation. 75 films (65 shorts and 10 features) from 29 countries were competing.

The Great Prize for a best original music score was awarded to Swiss composer Fabian RÖMER for the feature film « The Man who jumped cars / Der Mann der über autos sprang », debut film of the German Nick BAKER-MONTEYS.

The jury also awarded him the Prize for a best film for “the mastery, not only of the music, but also of the script, the narrative and the speech serving an unusual story, which can yet be understood by everyone.”

The Great Prize for a best sound creation for a short film was awarded to the Portuguese sound designer Mario DIAS for the fiction « Alfama » directed by João VIANA. The jury awarded this film for “the structuring role of the sound in the script writing”
