End of the evening

Maniacal filmaholics, you spent the day sitting in a movie theater wolfing down kilometers of films? Before you turn into zombies, loosen your tongues and legs around a drink or on the dance floor among the other guests, Festival lovers and the staff!
Monday 21st - 12:15am - Bras d’Or - OPENING NIGHT CONCERT Paul Pioli Trio![]() Paul Pioli Trio will host the evening with the Great Jazz Standards. The trio "trumpet, guitar, bass" refers to the formula favored by the great trumpeter Chet Baker in the final years of his career. Both intimate and present, the music will revive the spirit of jazz-cool with a few winks to Brazilian music. The great classics of the bossa nova will also be evoked, as they used to be played by Stan Getz or Joao Gilberto. Guitarist and composer Paul Pioli knows this music very well... an active musician on the national jazz scene, he is the leader of several bands. His career led him to play with great musicians (George Brown, Ben Aronov, Aldo Romano, Emmanuel Bex, Géraldine Laurent...) in major festivals and overseas. A beautiful evening ahead!
Wednesday 23rd - 11:00pm - Bras d'Or Gaïo![]() Ukelele or guitar in hand, he writes, composes and interprets melodies, which penetrate you, which bewitch you. Gaïo is a missionary; he delivers messages of peace, love and respect without any foolishness. Like a druidic griot, he is driven by a force he alone knows and shares spontaneously and instinctively with his public. His influences, from Marvin Gay to Fink, interweave and his acoustic soul side will make you tingle all over.
Isaya![]() Caroline and Jessica are straight out of the Louisianan acoustic fog. After having sung their melodies the world over, they return to the south of France in order to impose their style. These two modern day ‘Calamity Janes’ write, compose and perform their songs, a savoury mix of bluegrass and folk with soaring Irish vocals. Isaya came into being late 2009, but have collaborated since 1995 with different groups, such as Morigane, Les Mama'z, as well as Blue Mary. Thursday 24th - 10:30pm - Bras d'Or PerformanceMusical performance resulting from the workshop of electroacoutic creation by the students of 3 european film schools and SATIS University. Iraka![]() IRAKA has multiple influences... French songs first of and, notably, its rich poetic period of the 60's and 70's: we're talking about Barbara, Brel, Ferré... followed by rock, brut energy in a quartet formation which bring to mind classic rock groups. Hip Hop of course, from the start to this day, in (almost) all its forms. The musicians achieve this blend in an original configuration: - A beat boxer or human rhythm machine provides inspired Hip Hop rhythms. - A guitarist delivers melodies, riffs and ritornellos that stick in your mind. - A machinist/chorister distils samples and bass with Hip-Hop, electro-retro-modernist resonances. On this musical velvet, rap: direct, rhyming, bloody, are posed vociferous poetic and sometimes sombre texts. It talks about us, about human nature... and our clumsy desires for life, to be savored without any hesitation! (Winner of the Pépinière d'Artistes 2010-11 (by Nomades Kultur) Saturday 26th - 12:15am - Bras d'Or Roue Libre![]() Roue Libre, formation that has been rolling for years, unfolds its music on the summer, autumn, spring and winter roads. Nothing stops this energetic group who musically travel passing by the Balkans, swing, latin-jazz including original compositions and intrepid improvisations. Since 2006, the street, the stage, allows them to express a total musical fantasy, joy of living, of playing, of sharing their emotions. DJ Mow![]() Full of love and wisdom, DJ Mow has broadcast for over ten years his flaming mixes across the plains of our land. His striking and festive sounds dynamite dance floors. Giving rhythm to the night, the colorful vibrations of his musical choices carry us along and move our bodies which willingly let themselves be carried away. |
